From 22 June to 3 July, the Foundation hosted twelve fourth-and fifth-year students from the Milan Polytechnic, selected by the Advanced School of Architecture for the workshop Masterplan for the Old Harbour and Old Pier of Genoa. The aim of the workshop was to convey the art and technique of building through the Renzo Piano Building Workshop’s working method.
The twelve students, accompanied by the pro-rector, Professor Manuela Grecchi, were guided in the analysis and study of an urban project for the Old Port area of Genoa by Renzo Piano, Emanuele Donadel, RPBW engineer, Paolo Brescia and Maurizio Milan, long-standing collaborators of the office. Through the supply of equipment and supervision by professionals, the students received an enriching experience that ended with the final presentation of the project to Renzo Piano.
