The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, has been a guest at the ‘Art of Making Buildings Lab’, a course led by Renzo Piano at the Politecnico di Milano.
President Mattarella met with the students participating in Renzo Piano’s course, listening to their experiences and learning about the projects they developed during the programme in the spaces of the Renzo Piano Project at the Politecnico.
President Mattarella was welcomed to the Architecture Campus of the Politecnico - conceived from an idea by architect Renzo Piano - by Rector Donatella Sciuto; Vice Rector Emilio Faroldi; the Dean of the School of Architecture Urban Planning Construction Engineering, Andrea Campioli; the President of Fondazione Politecnico, Ferruccio Resta; and the General Director of the Politecnico di Milano, Graziano Dragoni. Before the lecture, the President was also greeted by the Prefect of Milan, Claudio Sgaraglia; the President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana; and the Mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala.
The Art of Making Buildings Lab is a course that offers students at the Politecnico di Milano the opportunity to work closely with Renzo Piano, exploring projects by the Renzo Piano Building Workshop and developing their design skills through hands-on study and design experience.
